Serenade of the Seas
One of our newest cruise ships, Royal Caribbean's Serenade of the Seas offers the ultimate "at sea" experience by combining speed, added comfort, greater space, sweeping ocean vistas and an exceptional staff committed to serving your every whim. Cabins
As with other recent arrivals at Royal Caribbean, Serenade of the Seas offers staterooms that are considerably larger than the line's older ships. Not only is there more space inside the Serenade's staterooms, there's more space outside, too, in the form of more private balconies. With a wide variety of interconnecting accommodations, family staterooms and suites, the Serenade is an excellent value for families.
Entertainment
The three-level Theater can deliver entertainment that rivals the production value of some of the best of Broadway or Las Vegas. Because of its "close-in" design, no seat is far from the stage and the sight lines are great.
Guests looking for the Serenade's "Time Square" might want to roam all the way aft on Deck 6 and check out the Colony Club - a feature found on all Radiance-class ships in the fleet. Here, you'll find four, totally-different "clubs" that fan out from the center hall - the Bombay Billiard Club - equipped with two, self-leveling billiard tables; the Jakarta Lounge - a small, intimate lounge with gaming tables; Singapore Sling's - a large, comfortable piano lounge; and the Calcutta Club - a card and game room. Together, they add up to some of the most beautifully-decorated rooms on any ship in any sea.
The Viking Crown Lounge, Royal Caribbean's hallmark, top-of-the-ship lounge, has morphed from a tiny lounge wrapped around the ship's funnel, to a prominent, multi-room complex that includes a dazzling disco and a lounge venue. Maybe what makes the Viking Crown so special is that it's not some place you'd wander into; it's a special destination.
The Serenade has the other hallmark, get-together places Royal Caribbean passengers have enjoyed for years - the nautical-themed Schooner Bar; the bubbling light fixtures in the Champagne Bar; and the Lobby Bar - plus some of the newer venues such as the Yacht Club sailing high above the ship's Centrum atrium; and the Coffee Bar. There's a big Casino, a Video Arcade, and even a small Cinema (a rarity on ships these days).
Passengers who choose to spend a little extra on their cruise vacation get an onboard bonus - the Concierge Club. This "private" lounge is located high up on Deck 10, overlooking the Centrum and is available for suite passengers traveling in Categories R, A, AA, and B.
Fitness and Recreation
Taking care of Number One is easy onboard the Serenade. Spend an afternoon in the huge, two-level ShipShape Spa, Fitness Center, and Salon. Try something new - maybe a seaweed wrap treatment or a mud bath. And there's no better time to try that new hairstyle (or hair color) than NOW. The ShipShape Fitness Center is equipped with free weights, resistance machines, cardio machines, and a huge aerobics area. Spinning classes (extra cost) are available.
"Oh," you're thinking, "just what I need - a Climbing Wall on my cruise ship." Well, get onboard and get in line because they're hot items these days. The wall handles all levels - beginner to your Mt. Everest wannabe. The climbing wall is one of the imports from Royal Caribbean's largest ships, the "Voyager-class" mega-liners. Also onboard the Serenade is a full-size Sports Court, a top-of-the-ship Putting Green, and Golf Simulators. For jogging, try the track up on Deck 12.
Family
The Royal Caribbean Ocean Adventures program divides young passengers into four groups:
. Aquanauts (3-5)
. Explorers (6-8)
. Voyagers (9-12)
. Navigators (13-17)
Each group has supervised activities in either the Adventure Ocean area or the Teen Disco.
A video and computer arcade offers more entertaining options. Adventure Beach houses a kid's- and teens-only pool and accompanying waterslide.
For Kids: Kids of every age have their own area on the Serenade of the Seas. Arts and crafts, computers, video games, movie nights, and pool play are all grouped close together on Deck 12. The Adventure Science program makes learning fun with activities like exploding volcano construction and gooey space mud chemistry. A new Adventure Ocean dining option allows kids to eat with the youth staff, so you can have a night alone.
For Teens: Royal Caribbean understands that teens need space away from both adults and younger children. That's why the Serenade features a special 13-18 disco/coffee house where they can hang out with their new shipboard friends. The Soda Card program allows you to purchase an unlimited number of sodas for a flat fee, a big bonus if you're traveling with teens.
